Walnuts Australia is the major provider of research and development (R&D) into walnut production in Australia. The R&D is focussed at maximising the production of high quality walnuts in high yielding varieties, to satisfy the growing local and overseas demand for Walnut Australia's premium grade walnuts.

To deliver on our R&D aims, team members within Walnuts Australia research team conduct projects in all of Walnuts Australia's operations, from the nursery to the harvested product. A major advantage of our R&D programme is that key findings are developed and implemented quickly and efficiently into strategies to maximise walnut quality and yield.

To facilitate our R&D, projects are often conducted in collaboration with international experts, and with experts from Australian universities and private organisations. Furthermore, Walnuts Australia is also a keen supporter of early-career scientific researchers by involving them in activities associated with the research programme.
